Charles Bradley – Why Is It So Hard
Charles Bradley is no stranger to hard times. Born in Gainesville, Florida in 1948 and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Charles spent the better part of his childhood living on the streets. One of the more optimistic moments of his childhood came in 1962, when his sister took him to see James Brown at The Apollo. Brown’s energy formed a lasting impression on Charles. He went home and immediately began practicing microphone tricks with a broom attached to a string, imitating the Godfather’s every move. With his newfound inspiration came an urgent desire to get off the streets and make something of himself.

The Other Tribe – Skirts
There’s something dangerous threatening to come out from Bristol. It starts with darkness; smoke fills the room, and drums start a hypnotic pulse. By the time you’ve heard those drums, it’s way too late. Six silhouettes emerge from the dim and from then on you’re in for the most exhilarating, chaotic session of your life. Thrashing percussion, filthy dub step, throbbing sub-bass, screaming guitars and mechanistic techno are comfortably united within the chant-laden songs of this genre defying and defining band.

Thieves Like Us – Shyness
Thieves Like Us is a five-piece band based in Berlin, Germany and Paris, France. With a true charm, they developed a fresh, romantic aesthetic between a pop, funky, naïve universe à la Hot Chip and the German krautrock scene. As all parties seemed to be mainly soundtracked by electro and techno, they began to DJ, playing old Krautrock, italo disco, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Factory Records stuff, and even new hip-hop. Later on they discovered French filter house and added this to their repertoire. Their first album titled “Play Music” was recorded in Berlin, London, New York City and Stockholm and released in 2008.

Clams Casino – I’m God (Instrumental)
Clams Casino is the memorable pseudonym of New Jersey resident Mike Volpe, who in the last few months has shot from relative obscurity to production sensation thanks to a handful of blistering tracks. Edging into the limelight after passing tunes to Soulja Boy and Bay Area superstar Lil B, his originality has resonated with more than just rap fans. You see, Clams hasn’t confined his songwriting to rap music alone, and listening to his productions you can hear a keen sense of harmony, a pop sensibility and a willingness to let sounds dissolve into an uncharacteristic dream-like haze.
Rakim Mayers (born October 3, 1987 in Harlem, New York NY, United States), better known by his stage name ASAP Rocky (often stylized A$AP Rocky), is an American rapper and director.
