Francis – Birds down south
Francis originate from the darkest woods of Sweden. The band has been around since 2006 and have recently released their first single “Bad to the Bone” on the Swedish label Gravitation. The bands live perfomance has been descibed as an unleashed Tasmanian Devil singing heartbreaking gospelsongs.

Angus and Julia Stone – Big Jet Plane (Adam G Remix)
Siblings Julia Stone and Angus Stone come from Newport, Australia. Angus and Julia’s decision to collaborate was taken at the beginning of 2006. Prior to that, both had performed as solo artists at open mic nights but utilised the other as a backing partner. Ultimately they came up with the same idea, “Why don’t we play together? It kind of made a lot of sense”. In terms of composing the material, they write on their own, then work together on structure and harmonies.

Joanna Newsom – Sprout and the bean
Joanna Newsom (born 1982) started taking piano lessons at a very early age and played for a couple of years, but switched to the harp at seven. Her approach to the harp, from the percussive aspects of her playing to her chord changes, was also influenced by West African and Venezuelan harp music, which she began studying at a folk music camp she attended in her early teens.

Donovan – Sunshine superman
Donovan is a Scottish singer-songwriter who emerged as part of the mid-1960s folk music scene.
He was born Donovan Leitch on 10th May 1946 in Maryhill, Glasgow, Scotland; the family moved to Hatfield, England in 1956. Donovan came to fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with a series of live performances on the television pop series, Ready Steady Go!

Flight of the Conchords Foux du Fafa
Flight of the Conchords is a Grammy award-winning folk/pop/comedy duo comprised of Bret Mckenzie formerly of The Black Seeds, Video Kid, and Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra fame and Jemaine Clement formerly of The Humourbeasts, who met in 1998 while studying film and theatre in Wellington, New Zealand. Billing themselves as “New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo”, the group uses a combination of witty banter and acoustic guitars to work the audience.
